Although there have been many advancements in the fight against cancer, it still remains one of the leading causes of death in America and other major countries. Just the mention of the word cancer alone still causes terror in the hearts of many. For 2012, the American Cancer Society estimated there would be 577,190 deaths caused by Cancer. This makes it the second leading cause of death in America, behind heart disease. As disappointing as these numbers are, scientific evidence reported by the American Cancer Society points to something even more disappointing. About one-third of these cancer deaths are related to overweight, obesity, physical inactivity and poor nutrition; all of which can be prevented. If you would like to do all you can to prevent your body from being susceptible to this condition, a proper vegetarian lifestyle may be for you. It is important to note that it is a “proper” vegetarian lifestyle rather than just “vegetarianism” that positions you best for preventing cancer and other diseases. There are many vegetarians who refrain from eating meat but do not refrain from eating anything else. They load up on sugars, alcohol and other toxic foods which ultimately bring them down. A good vegetarian “lifestyle” includes exercise, plenty of rest and other positive, lifestyle-related habits that together with healthy eating give your body the best opportunity to fight disease. While many still say that cancer is genetic, there is mounting evidence that more than nearly 4 in 10 cases can be avoided by making positive lifestyle changes. Smoking, drinking, over-eating, animal diets and lack of exercise are all major contributors to developing cancer. Some of the early studies on this subject were based on the National Cancer Institute-sponsored study of Seventh-day Adventists. Members of this Christian denomination were perfect subjects for this research because about half of them are vegetarian. The varied diets of the parishioners provided a great base for this research. The Church also encourages members to abstain from caffeine, alcohol and smoking. In a summary report the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that Adventists were less likely than the general public to develop certain kinds of cancer. Researchers have also been able to tie certain foods to a lower risk of cancer. Beans, lentils, peas, fruit and legumes –all of which are part of a good vegetarian diet – were tied to lower risk of prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer and colon cancer. With science and at least one major group in America proving what healthy eating can do for your body, the undeniable fact is that a plant-based diet is a major factor in cancer prevention. While there is no way to guarantee that you will not get cancer, you can literally cut your risk in half by consuming a proper vegetarian diet. - See more at: http://vegetarianspotlight.com/2013/diet-based-cancer-prevention/#sthash.mIXJEXvL.dpuf

Meat contributes to illness and diseases as well.
Health:
So how do you clean fruit to make them chemical free? Well, all you have to do is fill the sink or large bowl with water, add about 1 cup of vinegar and stir it. Add all the fruit you would like and soak for 10 minutes. You will see that the water is dirty, and the fruit will sparkle with no wax or dirty film. This is great for cleaning berries too, and keeps them from molding. Try it with strawberries, and they will last longer.
Preventing Diseases:
